A New Guns & Dragons Playtest Begins September 17 with a New Character, More Weapons, and 4-Player Co-op!
ABUTTON’s latest playtest introduces Eryn the Elf, bows, progression improvements, and more opportunities to build outrageous weapons with (now) up to 3 friends.
Pangyo, Korea, September 9th, 2026 — Time to lock and load once more! ABUTTON Inc. is thrilled to announce that Guns & Dragons will return for a new Steam Playtest kicking off on September 17th at 12:00 a.m. PT and running through September 23rd at 12:00 a.m. PT. Players can request access now by visiting the game’s official Steam page and clicking the “Request Access” button. Keep up to date on the playtest by joining the Guns & Dragons Discord server. Guns & Dragons is being developed for Windows PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store with an official launch date yet to be announced.

This latest playtest builds on community feedback from the game’s first public outing, which drew more than 100,000 sign-ups and Steam and helped push Guns & Dragons beyond 100,000 wishlists on Steam. The update introduces several major additions and improvements, including a new playable character named Eryn, the debut of bows as a new weapon type, highly-requested 4-player co-op support and broader updates to progression, UI, and level flow.
The upcoming test adds Eryn, a new forest-dwelling Elf hero who uses spirit flowers and wind magic to control space and support herself in battle. Joining her is a brand-new family of bows, which includes 23 different weapons spread across four categories: Elven Bows, Heavy Bows, Crossbows, and Stingers. Together, Eryn and the new bow lineup introduce fresh movement options, new ranged playstyles, and additional build possibilities beyond the game’s existing gunplay.

A major change for this new test is the move to 4-player co-op, a feature added in direct response to player feedback. While the game’s original design centered on a 3-player experience, the team is using this playtest to begin gathering live feedback and data around larger party-size gameplay.
On top of the new content, ABUTTON has implemented a number of gameplay improvements based on feedback from the first playtest. These include updates to the roguelite progression structure to make build choices feel clearer and more meaningful, stronger growth scaling within a single run, improvements to the game’s UI, and wider combat spaces that better support mid and long-range playstyles.
Key Features
- Defy the laws of physics with outrageous, magic-powered weaponry: Start each run with a regular gun or bow, then push it far beyond its original design through unhinged upgrades and enchanted engineering. What begins as a simple weapon can become something absurdly powerful, unpredictable, and uniquely yours by the end of a run.
- An evolving arsenal shaped by you: Use and upgrade a wide array of modern armaments and classic ranged weapons infused with the power of magic and technology. Experiment with firearms, bows, runes, and artifacts to shape your very own playstyle.
- Play solo or with friends: Take on each run alone or team up with up to three friends for extra chaos. Guns & Dragons is built around fast-paced roguelite action, satisfying ranged combat, and absurd weapon builds that work whether you are experimenting on your own or combining ridiculous loadouts with a squad.
- No two runs are alike: Combine enchanted ammunition, relics, runes, and weapon upgrades to create wildly different and satisfying builds every run. The best builds are not just strong; they are excessive, surprising, and a little unreasonable.
- Serious combat, ridiculous weapons: Guns & Dragons is built around taking a good idea too far, then doubling down for your next run. However, the world won’t just stand idly by and take it. Be prepared for cunning enemies, challenging firefights, and tough-as-nails bosses that will push you to your limits.
