Over 100,000 Players Signed Up to Test Their Mettle in the First Guns & Dragons Steam Playtest
ABUTTON thanks the community following a successful first Playtest for Guns & Dragons, which has now surpassed 80,000 wishlists. More opportunities to go hands-on with the fantasy roguelite FPS are coming in the near future.
Pangyo, Korea, August 11th, 2026 — Korean developer ABUTTON wrapped up the first public Steam Playtest for Guns & Dragons on August 10th, which saw more than 100,000 players sign up for access who collectively spent over 46,000 hours putting the game’s guns, bows, ridiculous builds, and increasingly dangerous enemies to the test. The response also helped propel Guns & Dragons past 80,000 wishlists on Steam.
The team would like to thank everyone who jumped in, shared feedback, streamed the game, or simply experimented with one upgrade too many. This was only the first opportunity to play Guns & Dragons, and ABUTTON cannot wait to give players another taste of the game in the coming months.
Players who missed the first Playtest—or are already itching for another run—can wishlist Guns & Dragons and register for future Playtests through the official Steam page.

- WHAT DID PLAYERS BRING TO THE FIGHT?: Players put the game’s evolving arsenal to good use, with the Magnum HG ranking as the most-used Tier 2 weapon, followed by the Bullet Drill AR at Tier 3, Amber Horn SMG at Tier 4, and the Judgment Ray AR as the most-used Tier 5 weapon.
- WHAT KILLED EVERYONE?: The Goblin Elite Shaman’s spell proved to be the deadliest attack in the Playtest, accounting for approximately 35% of recorded deaths, followed by the Ogre Chief’s club slam at around 30%.
- HOW FAR DID THEY PUSH IT?: Players managed to clear Difficulty Level 50, the highest difficulty reached during the Playtest.
- WHAT’S NEXT?: This was only the first opportunity to play Guns & Dragons. ABUTTON plans to offer additional hands-on opportunities in the coming months. Players can wishlist the game and register for future Playtests through Steam.
